The Model 70 Featherweight is slightly slimmer and lighter in weight compared to other Model 70 variants. The Featherweight uses the same controlled-round, claw-extractor to grab hold of the cartridge?s rim shortly after it leaves the magazine and guides it to the chamber, preventing jams caused by double feeding. Its three position safety allows loading or unloading the Model 70 Featherweight with the safety engaged in the mid position. Winchester?s M.O.A. Trigger System has zero creep and no overtravel after the firing pin has been released. The trigger, combined with a hammer-forged, free-floated barrel and forged steel receiver with a bedded integral recoil lug, help provide exceptional accuracy. The walnut stock has a satin finish and checkering, a Schnabel fore-end and a Pachmayr recoil pad. 3 round capacity. Has an overall length of 44-1/4″ and weighs 7 lbs.
